Not true. The S8/S8+ (most devices made in the past for years) can read/write microSD cards up to 2TB. Currently, the largest available is 400GB, which is made by SanDisk. With that said, I'm using the Samsung 256GB EVO+, which I recommend. I'm certain Samsung (as well as other makers) is going to release a larger capacity cards within the next
