If you like The Lord of the Rings A LOT in general it's really worth it. If you like LoTR and MMORPGs A LOT, it's even more worth it. If you only like MMORPGs, but don't care about LoTR, the chances to like it are 50/50. Beyond that it's up to you, I personally play LOTRO, because: 1) I really like The Lord of the Rings 2) I really like playing
