Totally underwhelming for a city of over a million, the only really notable sight is the cathedral (and that can be done in 10 to 20 minutes), public transport is very expensive (a day ticket is more expensive than a day ticket in London, one of the most expensive cities in Europe), the city core is not much different from that of any German
Anything worth going to will be safe, and any shady areas have nothing worth visiting. Being that you're from Toronto, I'll won't go too far into all the American history-related spots, but if you do have any interest, there are several, from Ft. McHenry to the Historical Society to Edgar Allan Poe related sites. The Florence-Venice train ride is easy enough without breaking it up, but Iād second the vote that Bologna is worth a stop, even for a night/day. 4. it depends on your tastes! milan is the financial and commercial capital of italy so lots to do if you're interested in museums, restaurants, shopping, etc. there are some amazing museums (art, science, design) and wonderful restaurants. it's also a good base for a day trip to como by train. true.
It's not "another country" like many people think. I've never been but if I can offer any advice on visiting, avoid Puerto Rico during hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to November 30. It has one of the most beautiful beaches in the world in Culebra. San Juan itās gorgeous and thereās a ton of things to do.
